Turner down to two

Houston (Texas) Cypress Falls athlete Shane Turner is not who he appears to be. The laid-back, running back with a slight frame is an assassin when he puts on the pads.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Turner ran tough all season, gaining 1,513 yards and scoring 28 touchdowns. He played biggest when the spotlight was the brightest. Against one of the area's toughest defenses in Westfield, Turner torched the Mustangs for 248 yards and three touchdowns. In a nationally-televised game against Cy-Fair and Sam McGuffie, Turner stole the show with 196 yards rushing and a 100-yard kick-off return.

Turner seems to be a little under recruited, but three schools have struck a chord with the versatile athlete. Turner has visits set up to Fresno State on January 11th, Boston College on January 18th, and Northwestern on January 25th.
"I watched the Boston College bowl game, but I missed the Fresno State game," he said. "I heard they won big. Right now, I think it will come down to my visits to Fresno State and Boston College. I think it will come down to those two schools as it stands right now. If someone else enters the picture, I'll take a look."
Another school showing recent interest in Turner is the University of Houston.
"I'd like to hear from them," he said. "I was kind of surprised this fall when I never heard from their coaches, but maybe this new staff will be different."
