The SEC has begun to come in for Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Boyd Anderson linebacker Kent Turene. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder landed his first scholarship from the conference in the past couple weeks. Who offered?
"I just received an offer from Tennessee," he said. "It's a great offer. Tennessee is a great school and it was a surprise offer for me.
"I know a lot about Tennessee because one of our alumni, Gerald Williams has told me a lot about it and the program. I know him pretty well. He tells me about the atmosphere and Rocky Top, how everything goes as well as the environment and coaching staff."
Turene hasn't visited Knoxville to date, but mentioned he plans to at some point in time.
"This summer I definitely will try to take some visits to some schools."
The Sunshine State prospect maintains no favorites at this time saying, "Everybody is even."
