Tulane could be first of many major offers for Louisiana DT Davon Wright

The Latest: Davon Wright is a two-sport star who has already earned scholarship offers for both football and track and field. While he will likely have a multitude of options by the time it comes time to sign his letter-of-intent, he's still in the offer collecting stage of his recruitment. Rivals.com caught up with Wright to talk about the handful of offers he's added in recent weeks as well as other programs who could be close to joining his list.

In His Words: "Recruiting is going good and I have offers from Tulane, Army, Navy, Houston Baptist, Louisiana College, and Kentucky Christian and I also have one offer for track from Southern University."

On Tulane: "That was a big offer for me. I wasn't expecting it to come until I camped there but I talked to them today and offered. My recruiting area coach said that he evaluated me again with the head coach and the defensive line coach and they really like me so the head coach said to offer me now. They said i would be a great fit into their defensive line at 3-technique position. I visited during spring practice. It's a great staff I really like Coach Peoples and I love the facilities and the campus."

On his visit to Penn State: "It was great. They have a great staff, great campus and beautiful facilities and Coach Spencer said he will come down this spring to watch me in spring ball."

Rivals Reaction: Several schools will be by to see Wright during spring practice and his offer list could keep growing if he performs well. Right now the offer from Tulane is fresh on his mind and the Green Wave could be in a good position to keep him close to home if they continue to recruit him hard.
