Tufele wants to see ASU

Four-star defensive tackle Jay Tufele is off to a hot start in his junior season and college coaches have certainly taken notice.
The Rivals250 prospect went into the season with plenty of fanfare and it's only increased in recent weeks, with Arizona State becoming the latest school to join Tufele's offer sheet Monday night.

Tufele, the No. 12-rated defensive tackle and No. 189 overall prospect in the 2017 class according to Rivals.com, has also garnered looks from national programs and has heard from a few big-name schools.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The 6-foot-2, 306-pound lineman hopes to see a few schools in the coming months but no trips have been scheduled just yet. He was at the BYU game two weeks ago to see the Cougars take down Boise State, and Tufele could also be considered a priority recruit for Utah.
IN HIS WORDS: "The coach at ASU who's recruiting me is coach Brennan Marion," Tufele told Rivals.com. "I don't know that much about them except that they're a good football team. I plan on visiting their campus soon.
"There have been some new teams that have been recruiting me heavy, including Ole Miss, LSU, Florida State."
RIVALS' REACTION: It's far too early for Tufele to distinguish the contenders given that he has not had a chance to get out for visits. The Los Angeles schools -- USC and UCLA -- have also offered and the physical prospect has said he intends to check them out at some point. BYU should also be considered a player, especially with its recent success recruiting within the state's borders. And the horizons might only expand from here if some of these national programs officially join the chase by extending offers.
