Tuerk visits four schools

Max Tuerk didn't sit at home during spring break. He hit the road and visited SMU, Colorado, Washington and Oregon and made the week off worthwhile by seeing some college campuses.
Those trips gave the Santa Margarita, Calif. offensive tackle a great perspective on what he's looking for and what he's thinking in his recruitment moving forward.

"I've gotten a bunch of offers recently so I'm really excited about that," Tuerk said. "I was on spring break and I visited SMU, Colorado, Washington and Oregon. That was a great trip to all those schools.
"It was great getting a feel for what the next four years of my life will be like. It was awesome meeting all the coaches. One of the things I looked for at each college was my comfort level. That is one of the things I'm looking for with all the coaches and the players. I really got a good feel for that.
"All the coaches seemed really accessible. They all seemed really easy to talk to which was great. They all seem like great guys."
So far, Arizona State, Colorado, Duke, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, SMU, UCLA and Washington have offered Tuerk, a 6-foot-6, 281-pound prospect who has seen his recruitment take off in recent months. His two latest offers are from the Sun Devils and the Ducks.
Since there is so much going on recruiting-wise with Tuerk, he doesn't plan to make a decision any time soon. The Santa Margarita prospect will probably narrow it down to a top five by the summer and then make his decision later on.
At this point, Tuerk doesn't even know of any teams that will definitely make the cut.
"Right now, I have no idea," Tuerk said of favorites. "I'm going to sit down with my coach and my parents and we're going to make that decision later."
