Casey Tucker had been hearing more from Oklahoma than some other programs but even he was a little surprised when the Sooners offered on Monday.
It is another major offer for the 2014 offensive tackle from Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton and now it's time for Tucker to start researching the school a little bit more.
Tucker, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound prospect who looked good at the recent Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Atlanta, said he knows some about the football program but wants to further investigate the school and what it can offer him.
"They have been sending me a lot of stuff," Tucker said of Oklahoma. "They've been recruiting me a little bit more than others and then they decided to make it official that they'd offer me.
"I like the tradition a lot. I like the football program and everything they've done there. I don't know anything about the school yet, I've never been to Oklahoma, but I do like the football program."
Tucker said he would like to take an unofficial visit to Oklahoma this summer but that might not happen because of budgetary reasons.
The 2014 standout still has a lot of time in his recruitment so he said a trip there in the coming weeks is not an absolute necessity although he would like to take one.
"I've been thinking about it a little bit," Tucker said. "I wasn't going to pay for any plane tickets the rest of the summer so I don't know what we're doing just yet."
Recently on vacation, Tucker had a chance to take unofficial visits to Colorado and Colorado State.
So far, Tucker has landed offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon State and Washington.
