Troutman has a nice visit to College Park

Three-star defensive end Johnnie Troutman out of Browns Mills (N.J.) Pemberton Township took his third official visit to Maryland last weekend. Going in he was favoring, Penn State and Ohio State, did the Terrapins do enough to sway the 6-foot-4, 289-pounder closer to College Park?
"I had a nice visit and I really liked the area around there," he said. "I got there on Saturday and toured the campus, looked at the facilities and saw the academics. At night I hung out with my host Dennis Marsh. He was a cool guy to hang out with and we just went to some clubs and he told me about the school.

"On Sunday, I met with coach Friedgen and went to a basketball game. My conversation with coach Friedgen went alright. He talked to me mostly about the school and stuff like that."
The No. 10 prospect in New Jersey rated his trip a seven or eight.
"I was impressed, but it wasn't up there with Ohio State and Penn State," he said. "I like them more because I got real close with the coaches and I really like the coaching staffs a lot. The area around their schools is also really nice."
Troutman will be taking his final official visit next weekend to Charlottesville.
"I'm going to Virginia to look around and have fun," he said. "I want to meet the players and just see what they have to offer. I got to talk to Mike Groh today because he came in for an in-home visit. That was good as he talked to my mom about the school and education."
