Browns Mills (N.J.) Pemberton Township defensive end Johnnie Troutman who was scheduled to visit Virginia this weekend, but did not make the trip, has committed to Penn State over a scholarship offer from Ohio State.
Nittany Lion coach Joe Paterno made his home visit with Troutman tonight and sealed the deal.
"I committed to Penn State," Troutman said. "It's closer to home and I like it there."
And with that the 6-foot-4 and 289-pound Troutman had selected the Nittany Lions over the Buckeyes.
Troutman is the No. 37 strongside defensive end prospect in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 10 prospect in the state of New Jersey.
