Trojans land two-way star

The USC Trojans landed one of the West Coast top two-way players in Jimmy Miller (6-5, 250, 4.8) from Westlake, Calif., rivals.com confirmed with his mother. Miller is an outstanding tight end and defensive end. He could end up playing either on the next level.
It pretty much came down to USC and UCLA. It was a tough decision for the young man as he knew he couldn’t wrong at either school. But in the end Miller went with a gut feeling.

Miller and his high school coach Jim Benkert are currently on campus giving coach Pete Carroll the good news.
Miller was selected first-team all-state underclassman, first-team all-CIF, first-team all-county, and first-team all-league as a junior.
Miller’s stats are a testimony for his honors. He accounted for 80 tackles, 18 ½ sacks, 14 pass break-ups (as in deflected passes), between 15-to-20 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Westlake head coach Jim Benkert says it best when describing his talented defensive end.
“Jimmy is very athletic and quick for his size,” Benkert said. “There just aren’t that many players that possess Jimmy’s size and athletic ability.”
Miller has an outstanding up field push and has a non-stop motor. He never takes a down off and plays hard on every down, whistle-to-whistle.
As a tight end Miller possesses an outstanding pair of hands and has the knack to get open.
Whatever side of the ball, the Trojans get a good one in Miller.
