Trojans come calling

Recruiting started with a bang for Rivals100 offensive tackle Tray Allen and even during what he calls a "low key" time period, more scholarship offers continue to come his way.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Allen has added a new offer from Florida to go along with schools like LSU, Ole Miss, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and others. However, the biggest thing on Allen's mind has been the attention from a big school out West.

"USC has been talking to me a lot lately," Allen said. "Coach Ken Norton Jr. keeps telling me that Los Angeles needs 'Big Tray' out there. With the new offer from Florida, those two are definitely at the top up there. I'm still pretty neutral though."
Allen says that future travel plans are sketchy because of his basketball schedule. He says all he is planning on right now is an appearance at the NIKE Training Camp in College Station on April 22.
In a top year for talent, Allen has been speaking on a regular basis with a few other Dallas-area prospects about possibly joining them where they go. Nothing is set in stone yet.
"I've been talking to Richetti Jones and John Chiles quite a bit," Allen said. "Chiles wants us to go where he's going. I think that's Texas because that's the impression I get. Those are the only two people I've talked with though about something like that."
Finding playing time is important to Allen, but not a deal-breaker.
"Well I mean, I've checked out Texas A&M and I know that's a place I could come in and play early," Allen said. "LSU says that I could come in early but I haven't checked out their depth chart. I've been to Oklahoma State and their offensive line coach says I would have a solid chance to step right now."
"If I have to redshirt, that's fine. But, the next year I want to come in and start taking spots. Comfort level is also a big deal, but I won't consider anywhere that I'm not comfortable at."
