Trips will help Dumas decide

Cape Coral (Fla.) Island Coast defeated Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Lehigh 20-9 in the two team's kickoff classic. Island Coast athlete Mike Dumas was glad to finally see where the Gators measured up against another squad.
"It felt great to be going against another team because the last few weeks we have been going against the same guys and doing the same things, so it was good to see how we played against other people that were talented," Dumas said.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound is playing quarterback and cornerback for Island Coast this season.
Dumas claims over 10 offers at this time, but has yet to really narrow things down.
"Most of my recruiting is the same right now," Dumas said. "I am about to start planning some trips to see some games. So pretty much things are the same until I get to some colleges and have an opportunity to see what they are like."
The Sunshine State prospect is hoping to take a number of visits to out-of-state schools in the coming weeks and months.
"It isn't my final list or anything but I want to see North Carolina, Ole Miss, Iowa, Iowa State, Maryland, South Alabama, and a couple of others," Dumas said.
At this time, Dumas has yet to schedule any of those visits. He said all schools are on equal footing until some of those trips have concluded.
"I don't have a leader right now," Dumas said. "I don't have any favorites."
