THE LATEST: One of the top 2020 quarterbacks nationally, Bryce Young has already taken visits around the country and landed offers from some top programs.

The Los Angeles Cathedral standout is starting to get serious about visits this season.

Young, from Pasadena, Calif., said he’s planning to visit USC at least once and he’s already started talking with coach Clay Helton and his brother, Tyson, the quarterbacks coaching and passing game coordinator.

Seeing the Trojans will be important but Young is also planning two other big trips to schools that have piqued his interest early in his recruitment.

IN HIS WORDS: “I’ll definitely be at a USC game this year. I’ll also most likely go to Washington and Oklahoma for a game. The recruitment (with USC) has gone great. I’ve talked to both coach Heltons a few times since the offer and I’ve really liked developing our relationship. I’m definitely considering them and look forward to being able to learn more about the school.”

RIVALS’ REACTION: It’s premature to say certain schools are emerging for Young since he still has three years of high school remaining but there’s no question USC, Washington and Oklahoma have his attention.

The Los Angeles Cathedral standout recently visited Washington and landed an offer from the Huskies in July.

USC is obviously a big-time program not only for kids from Pasadena but because it’s the hometown school. And Young’s visit to Oklahoma this summer was excellent because he got to spend a lot of time with first-year coach Lincoln Riley plus he feels the Sooners’ offense fits him well.

So far, Young has already landed offers from 17 schools and many more could come because he has special dual-threat abilities. But USC, Washington and Oklahoma are definitely going to stay in the mix for a long time and visits this season could be important.
