Trice grabs nationwide interest

Killeen (Texas) Harker Heights wide receiver Nick Trice has seen it all.
The 6-foot-2, 183-pounder has played high school football in Germany and then moved over to playing Texas football. The humble Trice says that the only difference is the size of the offensive lineman. On the other hand, he's had to deal with a lot of ups and downs to such as injury. It all started last year before his junior season.

"It was during the scrimmage right before the first game," Trice said. "My cleat got stuck and everything just caved in. I tore my ACL and my meniscus. I knew it was going to be hard for me to get back out there again. I'm just hoping my name is out there."
Judging by the amount of recruiting mail he gets, Trice is a well-known Texas prospect.
"Florida State, Oklahoma State, Ohio State, Penn State, USC, and a whole bunch of Ivy League schools have sent me stuff," Trice said. "I don't have any offers yet, but there is just a lot of mail right now. I guess I've just got to play this season to see how it goes."
Trice says that Southern Cal, Florida State, Texas, Miami, Oklahoma State, and Penn State are the top schools on his list.
"It would be nice to stay close to home, but I've lived all over," Trice said. "If I have another place that is just as good, that's fine with me."
Trice says that he'll be trying to make it to the NIKE Training Camp in April at College Station. An early decision does not look likely.
"Well, I'll probably end up waiting until the end to make a commitment," he said. "I want to see what all my options are first."
