Tre Williams planning trips

The spring has been busy, but not overwhelming for Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge defensive end, Tre Williams. The 6-foot-5 Williams says that seeing all of the schools come by Rock Bridge to see him has been neat, but he's not getting caught up in it. He's focusing on the relationship that he's developing with the schools' coaches.
"It's cool," Williams said. "I am not an attention guy. It's different with all of the coaches. They are all different. The coaches that really understand where I am from (are) like the coaches from Florida State and Arizona State. They are a lot less like coaches. They are more like a dad."

Williams says that this spring hasn't been about getting out and going to camps or combines. There is another avenue of approach that Williams feels like is better for focusing on the individual development. There are still plans to see some schools this summer, according to Williams.
"No, I don't have any plans for camps because I have a personal trainer and am working out," Williams said. "I am just trying to improve and get better here. I haven't visited any school yet, but I will make some trips this summer."
The focus this summer has been trying to bring a part of Williams game on par with another to really get better in a specific area to get balanced. Additionally, Williams admits that he was light last season. There has been a lot of effort in the weight room to add mass to his long frame.
"I really like playing the left side of the line," Williams said, "But, I have been working on the right side and I am getting comfortable. I think that I have the complete package now. I was skinny last year - 210-pounds and fast - but, I've been in the weight room and am almost 230-pounds. I have had to work to get stronger."
There are a number of big offers on the table to Williams from schools like Arizona State, Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska and TCU among others. He's also receiving interest from national powers Florida State and Georgia.
Williams said that the tradition of talented defensive linemen will play into his decision, the type of defense that they play and he's looking for his major as well.
"I am really looking at the defensive ends that the school has had before me," Williams said. "I also want to see if I can fit in their game. I want to major in medical technology and I will be looking at that."
