Trautwein impressed with UVA

Although not at the top of his list going in, Voorhees (N.J.) Eastern Regional offensive tackle Phil Trautwein tripped to Virginia over the weekend and was amazed at what he saw. The Cavs have jumped up his list and have moved into a tie for his signature.
“It went good,” he described his visit. “I can see myself going to UVA. It is a great school, great everything. The players are like one big family.

“I really liked the campus and the player and coach relationships.” He was hosted by sophomore guard Brian “Big Bart” Barthelmes and rated the trip an “11” on a scale of one to ten.
Although Phil had a great trip, he is not quite ready to make a final decision. He has now visited Virginia, Boston College, Michigan State, and Tennessee, and lists these schools along with Virginia Tech, Florida, and Rutgers as his favorites. He has one more trip scheduled and wants to take that before giving a commitment.
“I have one more visit and I am going to Florida, and will not be making my decision until after that,” he explained. “That is on Jan. 16.”
What about in home visits?
“I have already had Michigan State, Rutgers, Virginia, and Florida,” he commented. “Al Groh (UVA), Ron Zook (Fla.) and Coach O’Brien (BC) should be coming in January to my home.”
Trautwein is a 6-foot-7, 310-pound offensive lineman that runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds. He is rated the No. 26 offensive tackle in the country by Rivals.com.
