Transfer Tracker: Michigan four-star enters portal

The transfer portal never stops moving. On Monday, Michigan lost a young piece of their defense when 2020 four-star linebacker William Mohan became available.

Recruiting: Mohan committed to Michigan over offers from Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Miami during the summer leading up to his senior season. He had already made a couple of unofficial visits to Ann Arbor before making his commitment during an official visit.

At Michigan: Mohan played in the season opener against Minnesota, but then did not see the field again. With defensive coordinator Don Brown leaving the program, his role as a "viper" no longer exists in the new defense.

Potential landing spots: Washington State, West Virginia, Temple, Western Kentucky, James Madison and North Alabama are a few of the schools that have expressed early interest.

Farrell’s Take: As an undersized linebacker, Mohan could play safety or linebacker in some schemes which makes him attractive and his athleticism is excellent. The problem? He is such a 'tweener that many schools don't have a position for him so he has to be careful and selective with his decision. To me he's a solid impact player for the right scheme.
