Town thrilled with first offer

Ricky Town has been talking to Miami for a while and his unofficial visit there this past weekend paid off big time for the 2015 quarterback.
The Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure standout landed his first offer from the Hurricanes, capping off a great weekend trip.

"It's awesome," Town said. "It's a prestigious honor just to have a chance to be part of a group like that. There is a lot of history that goes behind that and it's great to get that offer."
During the trip to Miami, Town and his father sat down with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jedd Fisch to talk about the program, the offense and how they could see the 2015 prospect fitting in.
At the end of their discussion, Fisch told Town he would be meeting with coach Al Golden and that's when the offer from the Hurricanes came through.
"My dad and I talked to coach Fisch for a little bit in his office and he said, 'We're going to take you down to coach Golden's office and he's going to talk to you,' and he said, 'He's probably going to offer you,'" Town said.
"That was cool. We talked to coach Golden for a long time and he told me I have a full-ride scholarship to play there and he said, 'We'd love you to be a Hurricane.'"
Boston College, Michigan, UCLA and some other programs have reached out to Town, probably one of the top 2015 quarterbacks in the West.
It's still only his sophomore season but Town said Miami is high for him and he needs to talk further with his family about where his recruitment is headed.
"I'm definitely going to have to talk about it with my family but they're definitely high on my list," Town said. "I thought it was a great fit, a great school and I like what they're doing with their program."
Town visited Miami with Ventura St. Bonaventure teammate Bryce Dixon, a 2014 tight end who has also been offered by the Hurricanes.
