Towbridge planning spring break visits

Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic tight end Keith Towbridge has jumped out to five early offers in the recruiting process. He still has yet to see two of those schools, but plans to visit those campuses during his spring break.
The five offers on the table for Towbridge are from Bowling Green, Illinois, Louisville, Nebraska and Toledo. He will see the campuses of Louisville and Nebraska for the first time next month.

"On my spring break I am supposed to be going out for their spring games," Towbridge said. "We'll just watch the spring game, hang out and see how things look for the team. Hopefully that is going to be a good time."
What Towbridge knows of Louisville and Nebraska at this stage is mostly through his conversations with each coaching staff. With Nebraska, though, Towbridge also is hearing about the program from his friend, LeRoy Alexander, who signed with the Cornhuskers last month.
"I talked to LeRoy last week and he is trying to convince me to come over there," Towbridge said. "I heard that they are a great team out there, and fun to hang around. The coaches out there are good and I talk to them all the time, crack jokes."
The offer from Louisville came in a short time after Towbridge received the offer from Nebraska, and he has been educating himself on the Cardinal's program since.
"I know that they use their tight ends a lot," Towbridge said. "That's a plus for all tight ends, and I guess the coaching staff is good too. I guess I'll have to get a chance to meet them when I get down there."
An unofficial visit to Illinois took place just recently. Towbridge was already familiar with new Illini head coach Tim Beckman from his time coaching at the University of Toledo.
"He is a great coach," Towbridge said of Beckman. "He is young, he has a talented team and when he speaks his word, he means it."
With his recruiting process just getting underway, the 6-4, 230-pound Towbridge says he is nowhere near figuring out where he will attend school, but he does not plan to take the process out too long.
"I will make my decision in the summertime," he said. "I don't know who or exactly when, but me and my mom are supposed to have a conversation in July."
