Toryan Smith will choose...

Rome, Ga. linebacker Toryan Smith is ready to make his announcement tonight. The 6-foot-0, 230-pounder has offers from more than 20 different programs from around the country. However, his decision is coming down to Florida, Notre Dame and Alabama. So who will it be and what kind of impact can he make?
Smith doesn't have blazing speed but he makes plays and gets to the football. He has excellent instincts and, although he's a bit short, he's solid in coverage. He's a pure middle linebacker in my book for a 4-3 defense. He has tremendous strength and plays physical.

These are the reasons why I think he's a good pickup for Notre Dame, the team he'll select later today. Linebacker is a need position for Notre Dame and they feel Smith can play a role like Brandon Hoyte did so well.
Smith took his official visit to Notre Dame on Oct. 14 and was rumored to be close to committing to the Irish three weeks ago. However, he wanted to take a look at Florida and speak to a few coaches in his house before making a final decision.
Along with a reported commitment from Daniel Wenger and news coming from Konrad Reuland soon, this could be a very good week for the Irish.
Forecast: Notre Dame
Confidence Level: High
