Top Virginia LB likes four

Linebacker Jerod Mayo will be one of the most highly-recruited defensive players in Virginia. He likes four schools right now.
"I'm pretty much looking at UVA, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and NC State," said Mayo. "Those four are the schools I'm looking at really hard, and I wouldn't say that I like any one of the more than the others now. They're all even for now. The only school I've visited is UVA so I'll know more after I visit the others."

Mayo is a 6-foot-2, 214-pound outside linebacker from Hampton (Va.) Kecoughtan. He recently ran the 40-yard dash in 4.62 seconds and has the ability to cover the entire field. Some believe he may be the top linebacker in the state of Virginia in this recruiting class. What is it he likes about his four leaders?
"I really like UVA's facilities a lot. I went to their spring game and it was nice. I was pretty impressed with everything, especially the facilities. I talked to some of the players that come from the area I'm at like Mike Johnson, Elton Brown and Darryl Blackstock.
"Tech has a great reputation around here and they always have a good defense. I've heard a lot about their weight room and strength and conditioning.
"Tennessee is a prestigious program. There stadium has what, like 109,000 people or something? And I've heard that NC State is a real nice school too," he said. "I've seen some pictures of their new facilities and they're impressive."
Mayo doesn't know where he will camp at over the summer. His team will spend some time together, and he doesn't plan on doing anything but one-day camps.
"I just talked to coach Groh from Virginia, but mostly I've been talking to recruiting coaches. Tech is going to come see me in a week or so."
