Top Two For Three-Star DT

Union, S.C. defensive tackle Mickey Rice recently received an offer from Michigan State to go along with schollies from Clemson, South Carolina and Tennessee. However, don’t look for the 6-foot-1, 290-pounder to go too far away from home.
“Right now I like Clemson and South Carolina the best,” he said. “I like the way the interior linemen play in the Clemson defense, but getting coached by coach (Charlie) Strong would be cool. I’m torn between the two right now.”

Rice also likes the Volunteers, Georgia and Florida, but will likely stay home.
“I’d like to take my visits, but it’s tough to be home cooking,” he said. “There are two great programs right here in the state.”
Rice has three sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery for a touchdown so far in six games for Union.
