Alabama: "I like Alabama for their courage to win."
West Virginia: "I like West Virginia for their coaching staff."
Illinois: "I like Illinois for their work effort."
As for visit plans, James expects to hit the road in the next couple days to visit one of his finalist. It will be the first of two trips planned for July.
"This week I will be visiting Alabama," James said. "On July 28th, I will be visiting West Virginia."
James reports that he doesn't yet have plans to visit Illinois. He hopes to eventually check out the Illini in-person.
As for making his decision, the 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive lineman isn't in a rush.
"After the season on Signing Day," James said.
James, who played at Dr. Krop as a junior, claims offers from Alabama, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Florida State, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Marshall, Miami, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Tulane, UCF, West Virginia, and Western Kentucky.
