Thomas Wright will get an opportunity to be Sweeny High School‘s go-to running back this season. However, Wright doesn’t anticipate that his stint at running back will turn him into an offensive minded football player. He prefers defense and takes pride in his abilities as a defensive back.

Wright used his quickness and mobility to tally 117 tackles, 7 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions in 2000 as a starting strong safety.

He has offers from offers from Oklahoma, LSU, SMU, TCU, Texas, Iowa, UTEP, Arkansas, Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State.

When asked for a list of favorites, Wright mentioned a group of Big Twelve conference schools. “I’ve seen the majority of the Texas schools already,” Wright said, “so I probably won’t visit any of them. I will probably visit Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State. I’ll probably take all of my visits after the season before making any kind of decision.”
