Top TE Rome visits four

Rivals250 tight end Jay Rome out of Valdosta, Ga. took four unofficial visits in recent weeks. The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder made his way to four SEC schools.

"Over the past two to three weeks I went to Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Florida," he stated. "I liked all of them. I'd say all of them would be in my top five."

Rome stated three in particular wowed him.

"I'd probably have to say it was Georgia, Alabama and Florida," he said. "I just liked the overall atmosphere of all three of those schools. I talked to all of the coaches quite a bit and all of them are great schools in a great conference. All the coaches are very engaging and they are people I can talk to and relate with."

Rome added that he is likely done with visits until summer.

Currently Rome is preparing for spring practice to start up.

Rome posted 33 receptions for 580-yards receiving as a junior this past season.
