Top Six Named For LB

One of the top linebackers in the nation has reaffirmed his “open” status, saying that he has a top six, but he won’t narrow that down any further.
“I’m sticking to a top six,” said outside linebacker Xavier Adibi. “My top schools are NC State, Maryland, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia Tech, and Miami.”

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker was one of the most productive players in the state last year, racking up more than 100 tackles and amassing over 15 sacks. He bench presses about 350 pounds and has great upper and lower body strength. He also carries himself well, and has good speed and instincts.
“I’ve taken unofficial visits to Maryland for junior day and NC State for a one-day camp and I’ve been to Virginia Tech,” said Adibi, whose brother plays defensive end for the Hokies. “I love it down at NC State. They have great facilities and are committed to improving their program.”
Adibi will play not only linebacker as a senior, but he will also step on the field in the offensive backfield once again.
“I’m going to play fullback again this year,” said the senior from Hamtpon (Va.) Phoebus. “Our team has a chance to repeat this year even though we have a lot of newcomers coming in. I’m going to have to elevate my game and so are all the other returns for us to do it again. I’m working on becoming a vocal leader this year, and leading by example on the field.”
