Top six for 2016 R100 DB

Rivals100 defensive back Brandon Jones showed up at the Under Armour Elite 50 Experience with a top ten but has narrowed it down to a top six. The Nacogdoches, Texas star's top six in order is Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas, LSU, Ohio State and Florida State.
Each of these six schools is attractive to Jones for a number of reasons.

Texas A&M- "It was my first offer and they've shown me the most love out of everybody so far," said the 5-foot-10, 185-pound Jones. "It's the closest college from home so it's easy to get to. Since they offered me first I've started a really good relationship with all those coaches before any of the other coaches."
Alabama- "I visited Alabama during the summer," he said. "They're just always a top team and all about business. They produce great athletes and they're a defensive school."
Texas- "They're known for their defense and I think coach Strong has them going in a good direction," Jones said. "Coach Vaughn, my position coach, and I have building a relationship since I've been talking to him. They were kind of late to offer but I think when it came down to it they were one of my favorite schools."
LSU- "I took a visit down there this summer and I really enjoyed the coaching staff and the facilities," he said. "They're known for producing DBs at the next level. I have a really strong relationship with coach Raymond, my position coach. It's really not that far from home so it makes it that much better.
Ohio State- "It's been a school I've been liking for a long time," said Jones. "I used to watch them when I was little. I like the coaching staff as well. With the division they're in, that's one of the schools you would want to play for. I just think Ohio State is a really good school."
Florida State- "I like the atmosphere down there," he said. "I like everything I've seen so far. With the coaching staff, I have a good relationship with them. They're really confident about having good seasons each year. Coach Kelly is doing a good job of coaching the defensive backs as well as the defensive. I just think that they'll get better each year."
One major shake up in Jones' to six occurred when John Chavis, former LSU defensive coordinator, took the same position at Texas A&M.
"I think it was a really good move," Jones said. "With what he's done at LSU, Texas A&M really needed a defensive coordinator and with him there it will really open some eyes."
Jones is expecting to take official visits before committing.
