Top-ranked Tolliver taking it slow

Don't expect Rayville, La., four-star Rivals100 receiver Chris Tolliver to make a decision any time soon. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder still says he's wide open and is interested in about anybody that's interested in him.
"Right now it's basically just the SEC schools that I'm looking at," he said. "I'm still wide open. I haven't narrowed it down at all yet."

But while he says he is open, he does admit a few schools stand a better chance at getting official and unofficial visits out of him.
"I'll probably go to LSU for one of their games," Tolliver, who is the No. 62 player overall, said. "I'm going to try and visit Alabama. I'm going to try and visit Florida, but I don't know if they're going to come around or not. They were interested in me a while back."
Tolliver missed part of the summer because of a left ankle injury, and that kept him on the sidelines at both the LSU and Oklahoma camp.
"I did some coaching down at LSU," he said. "I did enjoy myself, but the main thing I did was help coach one of the 7-on-7 teams. I got to meet a lot of the top players in the state.
"I was also up at Oklahoma in June. I didn't participate in that camp either. I was basically just walking around and visiting. I don't play on committing anyway until the end of the football season."
Tolliver said the earlier injured ankle is just fine. He participated in a scrimmage this past week against Ouachita.
"We did alright, but we made a couple mistakes at the receiver position with blocking," he said. "We tied it up at the end though. We did pretty well, and we'll be ready for the season."
Just as coaches will be ready to start officially contacting him on Sept. 1 – the first day they can make phone calls again to prospects.
