Top Performers: Mayhem in Missouri

Recruiting wrap: Anderson holds offers from Kansas and several
Mid-American Conference schools. Missouri, Wisconsin and others continue to
evaluate.
Performance: Christian Brothers has plenty of future FBS players on their
squad, but Anderson was the one who took the game over early and set the tone
for the blow out. Doubling as both a safety and receiver, Anderson broke up a
pass, recovered a fumble and scored on touchdown receptions of 16 and 41 yards.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder is solidly built and CBC coaches often roll him into the
box because he is stout against the run. Offensively Anderson is tough to corral
in the open field and shows plenty of speed.

WR
Cameron Nisbet
Eureka, Mo.
Recruiting wrap: Nisbet holds no offers. He is hearing the most from
Army and Ball State.
Performance: Friday night's performance begs the question: why does Nisbet not
have more college looks? The 6-foot-4, 190-pound wideout has great size for the
position, but even more impressive was his playmaking ability. Nisbet has plenty
of speed to stretch the field vertically, and his touchdown receptions of 17, 20
and 27 yards showed outstanding body control and the ability to high point the
football. It was hard to find a weakness in his game that would prevent him for
FBS offers.

RB
Tre Bryant
St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers
Recruiting wrap: Bryant committed to Kansas State in July and is 100
percent with the Wildcats.
Performance: The touches for Christian Brothers' top players were limited due to
the blowout nature of the game, so Bryant had to make the most of his
opportunities. His start was inauspicious, however, when he fumbled on the
opening drive of the game. Bryant would make amends quickly, returning a kickoff
later in the first quarter down to the three-yard line and setting up his team's
first score. He would tack on a touchdown of his own on an impressive 32-yard
run where he shook free from a tackle at the line of scrimmage and exploded free
from the secondary.

DE
Tre Williams
Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge
Recruiting wrap: Williams committed to his hometown Missouri Tigers
back in June.
Performance: Rock Bridge's defense had a solid effort against perennial power
Kansas City Rockhurst and Williams was one of the reasons why. The 6-foot-5,
220-pound prospect is a rare athlete for the defensive end position. He has an
excellent get-off and does a very good job utilizing his length to neutralize
the offensive tackle's advantage. One question we got answered Saturday was
Williams definitely has a motor. He was going full-bore all the way into the
fourth quarter and we saw him track several plays down from the backside,
showing off his speed.

TE
Brendan Scales
Wildwood (Mo.) Lafayette
Recruiting wrap: Scales committed to Alabama on April 17.
Performance: The program lists Scales at 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds. He looks all
of that and then some -- an ideal frame for the tight end position in the SEC.
Scales showed a willingness to block and can play the in-line tight end role. He
did not get many chances in the passing game -- just two catches for 17 yards --
but between those plays and a couple of runs out of the Wildcat we saw plenty of
quickness and agility from the three-star prospect.

WR
Kamryn Babb (2018)
St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers
Recruiting wrap: Babb has early interest from Missouri and likes
Illinois and LSU.
Performance: The buzz is just starting on Babb, and it will only grow if he
continues to perform like he did Saturday afternoon. The 5-foot-11, 171-pound
receiver also doubles as his team's punt returner and made his first statement
of the game when he took a punt back 60 yards. A second touchdown would come
later in the game on a quick pass to the flats. Babb shook the cornerback, then
out-sprinted the safety to the end zone for a 20-yard score. The sophomore
already looks the part physically and showed flashes of big-play potential in
his season opener.

FB
Hayden Johnson
Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge
Recruiting wrap: Johnson committed to Arkansas in June, but is
considering new offers from Florida State and Nebraska.
Performance: The 6-foot-3, 252-pound Johnson is being recruited to Arkansas for
offense, but he made his biggest contributions Saturday night on the defensive
side of the football, tallying two sacks from his defensive tackle position.
Offensively Johnson lined up primarily in an H-back set, though he did flash
into the fullback and tight end spots on occasion. What makes him rare is that
he is an excellent athlete for his size and on the few passes thrown his way
showed he has natural pass-catching abilities. We just did not get enough
opportunities to see him on offense, though, to come to any clear conclusions.
9
WR
Jaevon McQuitty (2017)
Columbia (Mo.) Battle
Recruiting wrap: McQuitty holds early offers from Kansas and Nebraska.
Performance: Battle went up top several times during the day, but never to
McQuitty and it looked like that pass was open throughout the game. So, McQuitty
had to make his mark in the short passing game and caught several wide receiver
screens and passes in the flats. His most impressive play was a one-handed grab
that was thrown too high on a crossing pattern. For the day the 6-foot-2,
190-pound junior tallied five receptions for 23 yards.
10
DE
Jerrion Nelson
Columbia (Mo.) Battle
Recruiting wrap: Nelson remains open and has yet to set official visits. He
mentioned Iowa State, Purdue and Toledo as three
schools he was strongly interested in.
Performance: Nelson was pretty quiet save for a big play in the first half. With
Jackson setting up to punt, Nelson broke through the line and knocked the
football off the foot of the punter. He then picked it up and sprinted 25 yards
for what looked like a touchdown, but was called down at the one-yard line.
Nelson also finished with a half dozen tackles. He showed good pursuit, but had
trouble disengaging from blockers most of the day and did not get much
penetration.
11
WR
Roddrick Bryant
St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers
Recruiting wrap: Byrant holds offers from Illinois and Nebraska and plans to
officially visit both Big Ten programs.
Performance: With the game getting out of hand early, Christian Brothers did not
have to go to the air much after the first quarter. They did make an exception
when, from their opponent's 27-yard line, they sent Bryant on a fade pattern to
the end zone. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder set up his defender perfectly, then
hauled the pass in over his shoulder for a touchdown. Bryant spent the rest of
the day primarily stalk blocking, before finding the sideline in the second half
when the reserves came in.
12
OL
Chase Behrndt
Wildwood (Mo.) Lafayette
Recruiting wrap: Behrndt made a commitment to West Virginia on August
19, just two days before his season opener.
Performance: The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Behrndt plays both offensive and defensive
tackle for Lafayette. On offense he lines up at left tackle, but he is out of
position in that spot. The interior of the offensive line is where his skill set
fits best. Behrndt sets up with a strong base and can handle everything that
happens in front of him. He struggles when a defensive lineman crosses his face,
though, and speed rushes off the edge took him off balance. Behrndt does not
play heavy-footed, and did show the ability to get second level and locate.
OTHER PROSPECTS
CB
Bryce Banks
Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge
Rockhurst did not throw the ball in Banks' direction Saturday night so we did
not get a chance to evaluate him in pass coverage. The 6-foot-3, 186-pound
cornerback tallied just one tackle on the night and did not factor in much to
the game.
CB
Rashon Davis
St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers
CBC coaches are apparently very high on Davis and we saw flashes of his
abilities during Saturday afternoon's game. The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder is not
the biggest cornerback out there, but he closes on the ball carrier quickly and
made several outstanding open field tackles.
LB
Darion Hall
Columbia (Mo.) Battle
The 6-foot-2, 233-pound Hall is a stout middle linebacker who also doubles as a
fullback on offense. He probably does not possess the level of athleticism most
FBS programs look for, but he is a hard hitter whom running backs fear.
RB
Hassan Haskins (2018)
Eureka, Mo.
Haskins made a statement in his first varsity game, carrying 39 times for 254
yards. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound sophomore is a bruising runner with excellent
balance. Whether he has the top-end speed to be a high FBS prospect is
the question.
TE
Brandon Jones
Columbia (Mo.) Hickman
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Jones has decent height for the position and showed a
solid pair of hands on the few passes thrown his way. He is not as explosive as
some of the higher-rated tight ends we've seen and could use some added weight
on his frame.
OL
Brendan McConnell
Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst
McConnell lined up at left tackle for Rockhurst, which meant he had to face
four-star defensive end Tre Williams. Physically Williams got the better of the
6-foot-6, 270-pound McConnell on most plays, but McConnell did a decent job
holding him at bay.
