Junior to Watch: Gordie Sammis
School: Somerville (N.J.) Immaculata

Position: Offensive tackle
Size and speed: Gordie is 6-foot-5 and weighs 290 pounds. He runs a 5.2-second 40-yard dash.
Statistics: Gordie had 60 pancake blocks last season. He has a maximum bench press of 330 pounds.
Honors: Parochial all-state, all-county, all-area, all-conference.
Favorite Schools: Virginia, Wake Forest, Rutgers, Vanderbilt. He has been offered by all four of his favorites and has received serious interest from others such as Notre Dame, Ohio State, Boston College, Syracuse and Pittsburgh.
Skinny: This is a huge person who can move for a big man and he is very strong. Schools are looking for him to play offensive tackle and he should excel on the next level. He has been invited to the Nike combine at Penn State where he'll look to impress scouts even more.
"I'm going to the Nike combine. I figure I can see Penn State while I'm there plus it will give me a chance to impress college recruiters."
Impressing recruiters shouldn't be a problem for Gordie. He has already visited Wake Forest and liked it very much; he will also be going to Pittsburgh on April 14 for a spring practice. Gordie is also keeping Rutgers very much in the hunt for his services.
"I like Rutgers, it's close to home and they are really trying to build the program. I think coach Schiano can do it."
However, Sammis currently lists Virginia as his leader.
