He had offers from Texas, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Florida, Miami, West Virginia, Auburn, Wyoming, Alabama, Kansas State, TCU, USC, UCLA, Mississippi State, LSU, Kentucky and Arkansas.
Now Nebraska has made an offer and he's still hearing from Oregon while Florida State has been eliminated from the list.
Distance is not a factor, a good education is as far as his decision on a school.
Garnet will make his decision after a couple of visits probably close to the end of this football season. He has a visit lined up with Alabama on December 12th and hasn't ruled any offering schools out.
"I'm still wide open as to my offers," Garnet said. "My first game this season is September 7th," Smith said.
If he had to make his official visits, they would be to the following (his comments follow):
Miami - "The tradition of linebackers and they have great defenses there."
Florida - "Their style of play, head coach and attitude towards games.''
Alabama - "The Southeastern Conference tradition, the fans interaction and support are really good."
Texas - "I've followed them since childhood. The fan interaction and support are great."
Garnet replaced UCLA with Oklahoma - "It's closer to home and I really liked the atmosphere and they are the defending national champions."
