Top junior could go football or baseball

Crown Point, Ind., junior Matt Ernest is one of the top football and baseball prospects in the Hoosier state's class of 2007.
The 6-foot-3 and 170-pound Ernest is already drawing some comparisions to former Valparaiso and current Notre Dame wide receiver Jeff Samardzija.

Ernest caught 47 passes for over 1000 yards during his sophomore season. He was an all-conference and all-area selection.
On the diamond Ernest is an outstanding shortstop and pitches too. He is a varsity starter on the basketball team as well.
"I could play football or baseball in college," Ernest said. "I get letters from different schools, like Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, and Purdue for football.
"I haven't really thought about colleges too much yet. I'm just going to wait a little.
"Last year I went to an Illinois game with some teammates.
"I'm a North Carolina State fan. I just started watching them and liked them."
