Top JUCO CB torn between rivals

It's shaping up to be a Palmetto State battle for one of the top
defensive backs in the JUCO ranks.

Four-star Georgia Military College cornerback
Brian Staley is reportedly down to two teams -- and bitter
rivals -- in this recruitment.
"The main two are still Clemson or South Carolina," GMC assistant coach
Darrell Ingram said of the Aiken (S.C.) native. "It looks like it will end
up being one of those two, but I'm not sure which direction he may be
leaning at this point. I think it's a pretty good battle there.
He visited Clemson on Jan. 10 and has a trip to South Carolina scheduled for Jan. 24. Nebraska has also been in the mix and drew high praise for a December visit, but is believed to be a longshot when it comes time to leave the area, according to Ingram.
Clemson has had the longest recruiting ties to Staley, but South Carolina has strong connections to the GMC program and has many of its former players on the current roster.
Staley (5-10, 185, 4.4) had the most interceptions in the NJCAA as a
freshman, picking off nine and returning six of them for touchdowns. He
followed that up with seven this season.
He's scheduled to graduate from GMC in March.
