Top Georgia prospect taking Auburn trip

With the Rivals.com Five-Star Academy in Athens, Ga. approaching this Saturday, one big name that will not be in attendance will be Atlanta (Ga.) Washington cornerback prospect Branden Smith. Smith is one of the fastest rising prospects in the Southeast and he will be spending his afternoon at the Auburn Spring Game.
"Auburn offered me," Smith said. "I think it's a very good school. I'm excited about the Spring Game. I'm trying to see what the players are like. I'm going to talk to the players and the coaches, try to get along with the coaches."

Auburn one of the more recent offers out of the five that Smith has to date and he is still learning about the Tigers.
"I'm really just learning about them," he said. "I've seen a couple of their games on TV. I was really amazed by looking at their games and by how they won a couple of their games and by their school spirit."
Smith doesn't plan on making his college decision anytime soon and he also doesn't plan to make his decision strictly based on football.
"Right now everybody's the same," he said. "Everybody's been asking me am I going to commit early. I'm saying, 'nah. I'll just wait until I can go on my visits.' It's not all about football. I'm still looking at graduation rate and things like that."
Smith is a versatile athletic prospect who is explosive with the ball in his hands and has the size to be a top notch cornerback in college. In high school however, Smith just wants to win.
"I'm really looking forward to being an athlete and doing whatever it takes to help the team win," he said. "Anything coach needs from me, I think I'll be able to do."
