Top Georgia DE collecting offers

Offers are rolling for Rivals250 to watch defensive end Jordan Watkins. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder claims approximately 30 scholarships. Does anyone stick out early in the race?
"In the past couple weeks I've gotten Mississippi State, Auburn, Virginia and Oklahoma," he said. "Last year as a sophomore Alabama was really interested, now it's the second year in a row a national champion is interested, that makes you feel good about yourself and the potential you have."

Is there an offer Watkins still wants?
"I guess Alabama is one of the largest offers and Georgia, I know they have an interest and they are in-state," he said. "Virginia Tech is one school I'm thinking about. I've got a former teammate up there, Carl Jackson. I've talked to him about it and I know they are a pretty good academic school. They could be a school of high interest as well."
Watkins maintains no favorites, but did discuss what he is looking for in his future home.
"First off, I've got to keep up my academics, I have a 3.7 GPA and I want great academics, I can't play football forever," he said. "I could be done on my first play in college, you never know what will happen. I want to major in broadcast journalism.
"After that, I'm looking at how the team is doing football wise, how much fan support they have, the alumni and school support."
This past season as a junior Watkins posted 61 tackles, 13 for loss and six sacks.
