Top five uncommitted: Southeast

The Skinny: The deeper we've gotten into the fall, the cloudier the picture has become for Robertson, who seems fairly wide open. He maintains that Stanford and Alabama are among his favorites, but Georgia, California, Notre Dame and others remain in the mix.
If today were Signing Day ... Robertson is working hard in the classroom to make sure his high academic options are a reality, but as of right now, Alabama would be his destination.

LB
Lyndell Wilson
Montgomery (Ala.) Carver
The Skinny: Auburn, Georgia, Alabama and others remain heavily involved in Wilson's recruitment. The two in-state programs seem to be the linebacker's most likely landing places, though, he will likely take all five official visits.
If today were Signing day ... Wilson has not named a leader, but Alabama has to like where it is positioned. Auburn, Georgia or another could come on strong when Wilson hits the road for visits. Still, he seems to be Bama's to lose at this point.
4
WR
Nate Craig-Myers
Tampa (Fla.) Catholic
The Skinny: Craig-Myers' recruitment has been a handful to follow. A one-time Auburn commit, Florida State was thought to be the likely landing place for a time. Now, however, it seems Florida has moved into the favorite's chair. Craig-Myers recently took an official visit to North Carolina, which is also involved. He plans to visit Notre Dame in mid-October.
If today were Signing Day ... Florida is the trendy pick. Then, things in his recruitment seem to change suddenly. Trying to predict his actual landing spot is obviously difficult because of how fickle the situation has been. At for now, the Gators are the wise pick.
5
LB
Rahshaun Smith
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
The Skinny: A one-time Clemson commit, Smith names no official favorites. He has been a bit coy with the media since backing off his commitment to the Tigers, but the widespread belief is that the fact that his mentor is now employed by Maryland will play a part in his recruitment.
If today were Signing Day ... Smith says Clemson is still very much involved in his recruitment, but it's rare that a player breaks a verbal commitment just to re-solidify it down the road. Does it happen? Sure, but it's certainly the exception to the rule. It's why Maryland has to like its chances with the five-star linebacker.
COMMITTED BUT STILL LOOKING
There are obviously many players already committed throughout the Southeast, although some are more committed than others. Here are two who still may take a look around before National Signing Day.
1
WR
DeKaylin Metcalf
Oxford, Miss.
The Skinny: Metcalf has been committed to the hometown Rebels for more than a year, but his longstanding commitment to the school also has him wanting to explore his options to make sure he made the right choice. Alabama and California remain the most serious threats to the Rebels, but the school's win over Alabama earlier this month was a major step toward locking Metcalf up for good. Look for him to take officials to Berkeley and Tuscaloosa later this fall.
If today were Signing Day ... Metcalf would stick with the Rebels, especially if the school's dream season continues. Alabama has made it clear they're not going to give up on Metcalf, but if the Rebels make a run to the SEC championship, Metcalf will have a front row seat.
2
QB
Feleipe Franks
Carwfordville (Fla.) Wakulla
The Skinny: Franks is a longtime LSU commit who the Tigers nabbed out of Florida during the uncertainty surrounding then-coach Will Muschamp's tenure. With new coach Jim McElwain off to a great start in his first year, Franks has kept the lines of communication open with the Gators and may indeed take an official visit to Gainesville this fall. The question is, will Florida's success and the play of freshman quarterback Will Grier actually hurt their chances for Franks? If Grier looks like the long-term answer it's tough to see a blue-chipper like Franks opting for three years as a backup.
If today were Signing Day ... Franks would stick with the Tigers. Sophomore quarterback Brandon Harris' development should be an encouraging sign to Franks and the opportunity to play for a former NFL offensive coordinator in Cam Cameron might be too much for him to pass up. The Gators won't give up, but LSU's big season should be enough to convince Franks to stick with his commitment.
