Top five emerges for Dan Connor

Linebacker Dan Connor is widely regarded as one of the top overall prospects in Pennsylvania. His offer list is as impressive as any in the nation and gives credence to his reputation.
"Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Oklahoma and Miami would be my top five schools today," said Connor, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker from Wallingford (Pa.) Strath Haven. "Getting offers from Miami and Oklahoma really pushed them up my list. They might be the top two programs in the nation right now.

"All those schools have offered. Those programs are just my top five, and on any given day there are three or four others that move up and down on my list. But those five are at the front of my mind most consistently."
Over spring break Connor got an opportunity to check out three big-time programs not far from his home. How did he like them?
"I visited Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State over the break, and they were nice trips. My family really enjoyed everything we saw, especially the coaches. They liked the coaches at Ohio State, but the coaches at Michigan and Notre Dame really impressed them. I've been to Penn State before, and they're only like three hours from home so that's a plus. I've also visited Syracuse, Maryland and West Virginia."
While he's already taken a lot of time to check out potential schools, don't expect to see him on too many college campuses over the summer.
"I don't think I'm going to any camps over the summer. I'm going to be working at a few camps for younger kids around the area so that will occupy a lot of my time. Our team will hold two practices a week until August, and then we'll start two-a-days. So I'm not sure I'd have enough time to camp at schools."
