Top Five DE Has 43 Offers

The University of Miami was the first to call Claude “Turk” McBride from Camden (N.J.) Woodrow Wilson on Sept. 1. That alone speaks volumes about the type of player that he his, but did it put the Hurricanes in his top five?
At 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, McBride is considered one of the top defensive ends in the country and has the offers to back it up.

“Right now I have 43 offers, but I really don’t have a top five or a top 10. I’m open to all schools right now. I’ve had more than 30 calls in the last few days.”
Turk will try to have his list of favorites narrowed down by the end of September, but he is really in no rush.
“I’m just going to take my time with all of this”, he said. “I want to make sure that when I have my top schools, I’m comfortable with all of them.
Last season Turk had 16 sacks to go along with his 60 tackles and four blocked punts. He is an amazing athlete and has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.6 seconds. Not only can he run, but also Turk recently bench pressed 405 pounds.
“I’ve worked real hard in the off season and have put on about 20 pounds of muscle. I was only 220 pounds after last season and now heading into the new season I’m 240 pounds.”
It is likely that Turk will take one official visit during the season and then the other four after, but who will be the lucky five? McBride has been showing the most interest in Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Clemson, North Carolina, Boston College, Syracuse, UCLA and West Virginia.
