Top five breakout candidates: Southeast

Current offers: South Carolina, Duke
The skinny: Jones recently added his first offer from South Carolina and while the Gamecocks were probably hoping to keep him off the radar, it could only be a matter of time before he blows up. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound safety has a terrific highlight tape and if he checks out in person during the spring, several coaches will add him to the list. Size and length at defensive back are becoming a must-have for schools in the Southeast and Jones fits the mold physically, as well as having good speed and agility in space.
RB
Zack Moss
Hialeah Gardens (Fla.) Mater Academy
Current offers: Appalachian State, Miami
The skinny: Moss, who committed to Miami hours before this story was published, recently won the running back MVP award at a stacked Rivals Camp stop. In the weeks following the camp, he picked up an offer from the Hurricanes during a campus visit. His physique is impressive and he has proven to be a matchup nightmare when it comes to the passing game. His build allows him to run with solid power as well. When college coaches get a look at the work he has done in the weight room and couple that with the explosiveness he possesses, the offers will come. Moss may have made a quick commitment to Miami, but that won't stop other schools from calling this spring. The Hurricanes will likely be forced to work if they are to hang on to Moss until National Signing Day
DE
Kenton Tucker
Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast (2017)
Current offers: None
The skinny: It's somewhat surprising that a player with Tucker's impressive build is without an offer, especially since he attends a high school with a proud football tradition. The 6-foot-4, 258-pound defensive end doesn't have any bad weight and has a quick first step for his massive size. He can play inside or out. Still, his highlight film from a year ago is extremely limited, and Tucker has not hit the camp circuit this off-season. He could be in for a huge spring and junior season.
ATH
Jordan Wilson
Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell
Current offers: N.C. State, Louisville, Oregon State.
The skinny: Wilson has spent his entire high school career playing tight end, but several college coaches are starting to approach him about playing defense. At 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, Wilson has elite size and his quickness on offense should translate nicely if he were to become an edge rusher. Right now several major programs have already taken a look, but SEC schools have shied away. That's likely to change once they have a chance to see Wilson move in person during the spring evaluation period. In addition to local SEC programs, Oregon is also showing heavy interest in Wilson and could be the next big program to add to his list.
