Decatur (Ill.) MacArthur lineman Lawrence Dampeer continues to receive more offers.
“Miami and Florida State offered me over the phone,” Dampeer said. “It was to myself. I called down there and talked to them.”
Some of his scholarship offers are verbal and some are in writing.
“Illinois, Purdue, Missouri and Southern Cal are in writing,” the 6-foot-5, 275 pound Dampeer said. “Oklahoma State offered by phone to my coach. Nebraska has offered by writing. Oklahoma has offered by writing.”
Who are your top schools?
“Really I can’t name them right now,” he said. “My dad and I tried to break them down. It is so much. I really don’t have a top five.”
He has little time to think about his options quite yet.
“I have been in track meets and been busy,” Dampeer said. “Today is the first night being home and I’m still doing make up work, because I was not at school at all.”
Dampeer has been a varsity starter on both sides of the ball since his sophomore season. During his junior season he made 96 tackles including 12 sacks.
He was named first team all-conference as both a sophomore and junior.
