Top Defense: B2G 7-on-7

Rice has built a reputation as a running back -- he rushed for more than 2,000 yards with 30 touchdowns in his junior season -- but he was especially good at linebacker and safety during the event. He had numerous interceptions (running at least one back for a would-be touchdown) and then had an acrobatic, one-handed pick later in the tournament. He has excellent size and a real knack for making plays and being around the ball. Whether it's on offense or defense, Rice has proven he can make an impact all over the field.

Isaiah Hayes
Calabasas, Calif.
The one question college coaches have about Hayes is about his size, but he's deceivingly physical and super fast whether playing cornerback or safety. The three-star prospect with offers from Utah and others was mainly at safety and did a phenomenal job coming up to break up passes or tracking the ball deep and knocking it down. Numerous times, Hayes came over to make a play and really showed he can be a physical player who plays fearlessly but under control at the same time.

DB
Troy Warner
San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills
Warner has played safety and wide receiver in the past, but the three-star was at cornerback for the B2G event and really shined. He absolutely locked down his side of the field and did a great job playing press coverage and making it difficult for receivers to get in and out of their routes. Warner was especially impressive intercepting a deep pass in the end zone that could have gone either way. It is bewildering why more schools have not offered, but he is receiving plenty of interest.

LB
Bryce Youngquist
Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos
Youngquist is a physical specimen at outside linebacker and what's most impressive about the four-star is his ability to run and track down plays. There were numerous occasions where he was responsible for defending the wheel route and Youngquist was there stride for stride and gave up no receptions. He was also great at checking receivers across the middle to knock them off their route. The four-star is fast and physical and covers ground as well as any linebacker in the West.

Marquel Dismuke
Calabasas, Calif.
Dismuke is super athletic and rangy so he covers a lot of ground quickly and doesn't make anything easy on his side of the field. On multiple deep passes, the four-star made it to the sideline to make a catch difficult or he broke up the pass. He can also come up to knock away short balls. Dismuke's best attributes are his ranginess and athleticism because he has the ability to never get caught out of position. The four-star did drop an easy interception, but he made a lot more positive plays than negative ones.

DB
Greg Johnson (2017)
Los Angeles (Calif.) Augustus Hawkins
Johnson is best known as a fantastic running back, but he also plays cornerback and he is equally talented at that position. The 2017 prospect has great instincts and did a nice job being physical with receivers and making it difficult for them to do much. For a 2017 prospect, Johnson has great size and does a great job coming up and making a play on the ball. He'll probably be a running back in college, but there's no doubt he could transition to defense.

DB
Donald Hayes
Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey
Hayes is an intriguing prospect. The Dorsey standout can play receiver, he has moved to a new school and now is getting trained up to play defensive back. What he has going for him is that he's super athletic and aggressive, so he can make a lot of plays. A bunch of times Hayes knocked away passes across the middle and did a great job getting in there and poking away the ball. With continued coaching and work, he could play at a high level as a defensive back.
