Top DE Gaining Respect

Others might be getting more attention than Hampton (Va.) Bethel defensive end Chris Ellis early in the recruiting process, but college coaches will be hard-pressed to find a better defensive end in the state of Virginia this year.
“I have offers now from Virginia Tech, Virginia, West Virginia and Pitt,” said the impressive looking 6-foot-5, 230-pound rush end. “Things are starting to pick up a lot.”

In addition to the four schools that have offered, Ellis also likes Maryland and more than 20 schools have seen him this spring. However, he still has the same leader.
“Virginia Tech is still on top for me,” he said. “I really like their style of defense and the way they attack. That’s my style.”
Ellis doesn’t plan on making a decision anytime soon and will camp at Virginia Tech, Virginia and East Carolina (team camp) this summer.
“I’ll need official visits I think before I do anything,” he said. “I want to see how the players are and how the teams do this season.”
