Top corner in the West speaks out

One of the most impressive players we've seen in action this year is Colton (Calif.) two-way standout Shareece Wright. After seeing Wright in action two separate times this year, we now feel he's the top cornerback recruit in the West region and a big time college prospect.
Wright, 5-11, 180 pounds has dominated on both sides of the ball this year and is a high major Div I player at three positions- running back, corner and safety. Wright has rushed for 949 on just 65 carries (14.6 ave.) and 12 touchdowns. He also has 50 tackles and two picks on defense and some of the biggest hits we've seen all season long.

Wright took recruiting trips to Nebraska and Oregon and was at Arizona two weeks ago.
"I loved it," Wright said. "I've been there before, I took an unofficial visit in the summer so I already knew a lot about the school and the campus but it was still cool to come back and check things out again. This time I got to see more of the campus and the football facilities and spent a lot more time with the coaches.
"Coach Canales is the one recruiting me and I also spent a lot of time with my position coach, coach (Mark) Stoops. I really like the direction the program is going in at Arizona right now. Just watching the young players on the team, they have a nice talent base there and I like how hard the team plays. They come out and fly around and really hit. Arizona is right near the top of my list right now."
Wright took in the USC- Fresno State game last night and said his interest in the Trojans remains very high.
"I have a verbal offer from them and they said as soon as I pass the SAT, they'll put it in writing," Wright said. "I just took the test and I should be getting it back any day now. In fact, I'll probably go online a little later and see if it's already posted. I just need a 760 for them to offer and I'm pretty confident I scored that high but no matter what, I'm just going to keep taking it over and over again so I can keep raising my score every time.
"If USC were to offer, that would probably put them at the top of my list but I like Arizona a lot and Oregon is right there too so I don't think I would commit right away. I still have some trips to take but it would be tough to turn down USC.
"As for the game last night, it was a wild atmosphere. I knew Fresno State would give them a great game because I've seen them play before and they're a real good team. USC always finds a way to win though, that's just what they do. No matter who they're playing, they always find a way to win in the end."
Wright said he's in the process of setting a visit to LSU but was unsure who his 5th and final visit would go to. Colton will take on Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei in a CIF Div I quarterfinal game this Friday after blowing out Los Alamitos last weekend 57-7
