Top athlete Grant names a leader

Four-star Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson athlete Michael Grant has added three official visits for the month of January.
“On the 9th, I’ll be going to Georgia,” he said. “On the next week, the 16th, I’ll be down at Florida. And then on the week after that, the 23rd, I’ll be at Tennessee. Those are pretty much the main three right now”

Grant (6-0, 175, 4.4) had also visited Miami on Dec. 12, but says “I just can’t see myself fitting in there as well as the other three.”
Is there a leader?
“Yeah, I like Georgia a lot right now,” he said. “I’m real comfortable with the guys there. I know a bunch of them already, and I feel like I fit in pretty well with the players and the coaches. I like the DB coach, coach Martinez. I’m pretty close to him.”
And what about positives for the Gators and Vols?
“I know some guys there, too,” he said. “Mainly in the track program. That’s what I’m looking at with them.”
He said he expects an in-home visit from Florida’s Ron Zook next week.
In the meantime, he’s just been relaxing and watching as many bowl games as possible during the dead period.
“I saw Georgia and Florida play,” he said. “Georgia almost gave theirs away, but I was glad to see them come back and win. Florida didn’t look too good against Iowa. I’ll be watching Tennessee and Clemson today.”
Grant is rated the No. 9 athlete in the nation by Rivals.com. He is one of the fastest players in the Peach State, excelling in the 100- and 200-meter track events.
