D’Andre Rogers could emerge as one of the top 2020 tight ends nationally and this past weekend he took a visit to Notre Dame.

The Irish have not offered the Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic standout yet but it seems like the coaching staff is interested - and taking things slowly early on.

“Liked my film, very interested and want to see my first semester transcripts,” Rogers said of the Notre Dame coaching staff. “(The coaches) said they would be in touch shortly.”

As for the visit to South Bend, it was fantastic for Rogers, who has 23 receptions for 314 yards and seven touchdowns for his undefeated team so far this season.

The 2020 standout got a much better feel for Notre Dame altogether and he also got to see the Irish comfortably pull away from NC State.

It was a big-time atmosphere and Rogers definitely soaked it all in.

“It was a great trip,” Rogers said.

“The fans were amazing. To hear that they have sold out every home game since the 1970s is really cool. The coaches were really open and emphasized the 99 percent graduation rate. Overall, it was definitely worth the trip to experience the Notre Dame tradition, the state-of-the-art facilities and the friendliness of the community.”

So far, the only offer Rogers has received is from USC. Washington and some other Pac-12 schools are showing interest as well.
