Bryce Young worked out at Oklahoma this summer and had a great experience, especially getting to know first-year coach Lincoln Riley.

It would have been a good sign for the Sooners if the 2020 quarterback from Los Angeles Cathedral returned for a game.

That’s exactly what happened this past weekend as Young was in Norman for the Sooners’ win over TCU.

He had another great trip and Oklahoma has to be considered a major player in his recruitment even though he’s still working through his sophomore season.

“Oklahoma was definitely a unique atmosphere and environment,” Young said. “I was glad I was able to go back and experience a game. It was also great catching up with coach Riley and seeing the facilities again.”

One of the many things that stood out to Young, who’s putting up huge numbers this season, was that Riley made it clear during their discussions that he felt Young would be a great fit in Oklahoma’s offense.

“It was humbling that coach Riley let me know that he wanted me and that he could see me being successful in their offense,” Young said.

So far, the Los Angeles Cathedral standout has landed offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisville, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, San Jose State, TCU, Texas Tech, USC, Utah, Utah State, Washington and Washington State.

Recently, the 2020 quarterback visited Washington and was highly impressed by what the Huskies have to offer. USC is also an early contender since Young is from Pasadena, Calif., and has closely followed the Trojans.

With a playoff game coming up this week, Young has thrown for 3,103 yards with 40 touchdowns and three interceptions this season. He’s also rushed for six scores.
