Top 2019 ATH Jake Smith planning two big visits

Jake Smith had a breakout junior season, put up huge numbers on the offensive side of the ball and now his recruitment has completely taken off.

The 2019 four-star athlete from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Prep standout has landed many major offers - his latest coming from Alabama - and soon Smith is hitting the road for some early trips.

“I’m going to the University of Texas this Thursday and Friday, then on Saturday I’m going to visit Alabama,” Smith said.

Both visits could be huge for Smith, who rushed for 1,135 yards and 11 touchdowns and also caught 33 passes for 1,055 yards and 15 scores this season.

The Longhorns have not offered Smith yet but he’s hopeful that by heading to Austin for a few days that Texas could be one of the next schools on his ever-growing list.

There has already been significant interest.

“I’m just excited to see what the atmosphere at both places are like,” Smith said. “Texas seems pretty interested so I think once I get out there an offer is definitely a possibility.”

So far, the 2019 four-star prospect has landed offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Memphis, Nevada, Northwestern, Penn State, Syracuse, UCLA, Utah, Vanderbilt, Washington State and Wisconsin.
