Top 2019 ATH Jake Smith back from big trips

Jake Smith put up huge numbers throughout his junior season and national programs have certainly taken notice.

The 2019 four-star athlete from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Prep has landed big-time offers and this past weekend Smith headed to Texas and then Alabama for visits.

The Crimson Tide had already offered. Smith landed his Texas offer while in Austin and he had an excellent visit there.

“Texas was great,” Smith said.

“I loved the facilities, coaches and city. (The offer) meant a lot to me and I could see myself there in the future.”

After a few days at Texas, the 2019 four-star headed to Alabama and had another excellent trip. Both the Longhorns and the Crimson Tide impressed Smith and should remain players in his early recruitment.

“Alabama was awesome as well,” Smith said. “The facilities were unmatched and the hospitality was great. The campus really stood out to me there.”

In his junior season, Smith rushed for 1,135 yards and 11 touchdowns and also caught 33 passes for 1,055 yards and 15 scores, all team highs. Both Alabama and Texas agree on where he would be utilized on offense.

“Both of them would use me in the slot,” Smith said.

So far, the Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep standout has landed offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Memphis, Nevada, Northwestern, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, Utah, Vanderbilt, Washington State and Wisconsin.
