Oxnard (Calif.) Santa Clara running back Cierre Wood is already considered one of the top prospects in the state of California for the class of 2009. The 6-foot, 176-pounder picked up an oral offer early on from San Diego State, but on Sept. 1, he added two monster offers.
"Cierre added two more offers to go along with his San Diego State offer," Santa Clara athletic director Mike Schabert said.
"Florida and Nebraska have now offered Cierre."
As a junior, Wood had 1,407 yards rushing and 17 scores. He also had 595 yards receiving and seven additional scores.
That was good enough to spark early interest from the Gators, Cornhuskers and Aztecs. He's also getting information from Cal, USC and UCLA.
Santa Clara opened the season with a 17-6 loss to Hueneme, but it wasn't for a lack of effort from Wood. He rushed 20 times for 136 yards.
Wood also had four tackles on defense and punted the ball four times for 155 yards with a long of 56.
