Top 10 Safety Sets First Trip

Four-star safety Ira Guilford of Hoboken, N.J. has set his first official visit. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound standout will be visiting Michigan State on the weekend of Dec. 13.
"I started to set my visits," said Ira, nicknamed The Assassin for his bone-crushing hits. "Now that I have my first visit set, I plan on setting up the others soon. I just need to narrow things down a bit more."

With more than 25 offers, Ira has his top five with a few other schools still in the race. Besides Michigan State, Guilford is listing Ohio State, Syracuse, Penn State and Notre Dame as his leaders. Boston College, Rutgers and Maryland are also still in the race.
"I'm eager to start visiting schools officially, but I don't want to set up the other visits until I'm sure of the other four schools. I'm also showing more interest in Notre Dame now that they have offered, but like I said, a few others that are still in it as well."
The telephone has been ringing non-stop since Sept. 1 and a few recruiters have even attended his first few scrimmages.
"It was nice to hear that a few schools came to watch me play already, Boston College and Maryland came to my first scrimmage and I thought that was great. This will be a tough choice to make as far as the other four visits, but when I do decide on what schools they will be, I hope to get a good feel of the surroundings of each."
Ira would like to take one official visit during the season if he schedule allows it. The other four will come after November.
