Top 10 players outside 2017 R250

James is a guy who has the size (6-5, 245) and overall athleticism to be a big-play threat at tight end. He needs to sharpen his routes and become a more consistent all-around performer, but the raw tools are there for him to continue to rise.

WDE
Damion Barber
Harrisburg, Pa.
At Rivals Camp Series: New Jersey, Barber was one of the top defensive linemen. He has excellent lower body strength and has great balance. That is also evident in his film from last season. Barber has a good chance of earning a fourth star if he can add more pass rushing moves to his repertoire.

SDE
Ryan Johnson
Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul's
Johnson has solid size (6-4, 235) and interesting film. He seems to get off the line incredibly well, but needs to show more raw upper body strength. He's a bit of an unknown because he was absent from the summer circuit, but he's shown plenty on tape and will have a lot of eyes on him as he begins his junior season. Johnson has a lot of raw tools in place.
5
DT
Neil Farrell
Mobile (Ala.) Murphy
Farrell is another prospect with serious buzz and impressive size at 6-4, 245. He seems to rely a bit much on his upper-body strength, but moves his feet well for a prospect of his size on film. Farrell could be a big junior season away from a rush of new scholarship offers as well as a four-star rankings. If Farrell becomes comfortable with his body this year, he has the tools to be truly dominant.

ILB
Dylan Rivers
Stephens City (Va.) Sherando
Rivers started off as a four-star because he is a beast on film, showing great physicality and the ability to quickly read and react. During an in-person evaluation at RCS: Richmond, Rivers did not run as fluidly and was not as explosive as we would have liked.
7
ILB
Sampson Niu
San Diego (Calif.) Madison
Niu is a hitter who can break through the line and attack running backs. He also has the speed to track plays to the sidelines and then make a tackle for loss. He also has the ability to drop back in pass coverage and make plays that way. He's best at playing downhill and making a tackle in the backfield, but he's impressively fast moving sideline-to-sideline and racking up tackles.
8
OLB
Dimitri Moore
Cedar Hill, Texas
Moore has a lot to work with at this point. As he fills out his 6-3, 190-pound frame, he will definitely be one to watch. He is comfortable in space and does a nice job in coverage. Overall he is a smart player who shows a lot of range and plus athleticism.
9
OLB
Santino Marchiol
Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek
Marchiol has impressive sophomore film and, though he didn't work out at UCLA's skills camp last month, he certainly passed the eye test. The 6-foot-3, 223-pound linebacker always seems to be around the football and makes things happen because he's able to decipher plays as they happen. He can cover the perimeter, but also attacks the line of scrimmage to close quickly on ball carriers. Marchiol will be looking to build on a fruitful offseason this fall.
10
CB
Chris Ingram
Mooresville, N.C.
Ingram has a chance to be a cornerback that shoots up the rankings. His film is very good, showing great closing speed and fluid footwork. There is a lot to like about how physical Ingram can be and his length is really disruptive. We are looking forward to seeing Ingram get tested more this season and next offseason.
